RoleCurriculum Design & Delivery
The challenge
Employers and educators were building hiring pipelines separately. People with disabilities needed a pathway grounded in the realities of an actual roasting-facility workplace — not a generic curriculum handed down from outside it.
The approach
Working through Crispus Attucks alongside the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation and Starbucks, Mike wrote the curriculum for the York roasting facility's 12-week Inclusion Academy for adults with disabilities, and helped deliver the three-hour sessions directly.
The result
The curriculum connected preparation to the real hiring process rather than an abstraction of it. It was later adopted and used across additional Starbucks facilities beyond the original site.
